SIERRA VISTA HIGH SCHOOL

Opening in 1961, the school has been an influential educational establishment in the city of Baldwin Park, California. Sierra Vista High School is one of two comprehensive high schools in the Baldwin Park Unified School District, located in a residential area in the city of Baldwin Park. The city of Baldwin Park is notably located near the 605 and 10 freeway junction, just 16 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

Sierra Vista High School consistently challenges its students to be educated, successful members of society prepared to meet their life goals and ambitions. School wide Professional Learning Communities, Advancement Via Individual Determination, Advance Placement courses, a dedicated Arts Department, rigorous courses and an award winning credit recovery program challenge our students to excel in the classroom and in our community. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in Visual and Performing Arts, sports, clubs, and co-curricular programs.

The strength of the Sierra Vista High School Community has been built on the relationships that are developed among staff, students, and parents. The school is supported by our parent involvement organization. United Parents of Sierra Vista is a parent group that assists with fundraising, supervision and various ventures on our campus.
