On October 24, Sierra Vista High School sports medicine students and staff attended a Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and Regional Occupational Program (ROP) college field trip to The University of La Verne. More than half of the SVHS group received acceptances to the university during the field trip with 16 students total securing a spot.

“Our experience at the University of La Verne was great and the staff is more than willing to help our students succeed in college,” said Sierra Vista High School ROP teacher Leticia Pelayo.

In addition, a group of Baldwin Park High School students and staff attended a college field trip to The University of La Verne on November 28. Twenty two seniors received same day acceptances, making it Baldwin Park High School’s largest group to receive on the spot admissions. One student in particular, Justin Gonzalez Romo was also the recipient of a $19,000 Leo Scholarship through La Verne University!

“We tell them ‘everything and anything is possible, it’s up to ME to make it possible,’ and our students did just that. We are so proud,” said Baldwin Park College & Career Counselor Denise De Robles.

Congratulations to all students!
