Ms. Fried: Welcome to Our Class!  

Hello dear students!  We are about to begin on another beautiful journey.  We are already traveling through our Fall 2023 semester, and we are all here together.   I want all of you to CREATE rather than CONSUME; I want you to INVENT rather than MIMIC.  We are going to travel through the road of our imaginations and find our true creative selves.  We are going to find new ways to communicate with each other and love each other.  We are going to honor and respect our differences while we find ways to truly communicate with each other.  We are going to honor all the languages we hear while we work together.  We are going to use our languages to express our true selves.  Are you ready?  Let's go!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Jinhui Liu has won the NABE (National Association for Bilingual Education) 2023 Student Essay Writing Contest!  He travelled to Portland, Oregon to beautifully present his winning essay to a large audience.  Some of them cried they were so impressed with his presentation.  He received a standing ovation after his presentation.

Sofia Estrada has won the CABE (California Association for Bilingual Education 2023 Student Essay Writing Contest!  She presented her winning essay in March at the Long Beach Convention Center to a crowd of more than 3000 people.  She received a standing ovation after her excellent presentation.

Way to go, Dons!!!!!
