AP English Lang/Comp. Pers. 5 & 6

Course Description
AP English Language and Composition is defined as a course that matches the first year rhetoric and writing courses at most universities. The mantra for the course is to read critically, think rationally, and communicate effectively. The goal not only facilitates mature development as a thinker and scholar, but the skills necessary for the development of college and career readiness. The primary goals of this course are two fold - 1. to prepare students in all aspects for College Board's AP exam in English Language and Composition; 2. to develop and strengthen students' abilities in reading critically and writing analytically for success at the college level.

Class Expectations / Management Plan
One of my most important goals as a teacher is to create a positive class learning environment where students can focus, feel relaxed, and be safe in order to maximize their potential. I want ALL students to be successful and know that my classroom is a place where they can explore new ideas, practice new skills, and develop themselves both academically and personally. With that in mind, I have a list of expectations that I hold for all my students and a plan for helping struggling students to redirect themselves to success.
